Feb 5 evening

Wellington. ... This is a big city. Big downtown. Population only as big as Tacoma, but bigger buildings.

Old St. Paul's is a nice old church. Used to be the cathedral. Looks like a small-town church on the exterior, but larger on the inside.

Parliament's a nice old building.

"Married with Children" on the tv. Look! A tv in our room! A nice, clean hostel. Put your keycard in the slot to get electricity in the room. Good thing they gave us two. ... And now some NZ hospital drama. Locked cameras so it looks like a sitcom or soap opera.

Took a walk around town. This place is dead after 5. All the shops are closed except McDonald's, Burger King, and the supermarket. We got food at the supermarket.

Took the tram up the hill. Fairly nice view up there. Some people use the cable car as a commuter train. Houses on top. University halfway up. Pleasant temperature in the evening.
