Leisurely morning, awoken by birds. Walk along the beach before breakfast.

At 9ish, taxicab awaiting, back to Nadi. Farms, goats, cows. Pine trees, breadfruit trees, mango trees. Mongoose scurrying away from my camera lens. Native Fijians going to church -- Sunday -- men wearing skirts & ties. Hindu festival going on for a couple weeks -- Trinali? Tridhali? That's what we saw yesterday -- same fancy dress & circling with flames and food today. Stopped at the same store today & Chunlin bought 3 Choc-Attacks ice cream bars, same as our cab driver bought us yesterday. Beautiful mountains. Lushness. Nice place to visit, but hot.
Chunlin: "Look how cheap the Jim Beam is! ... I want to live here."
On the plane, boarding almost done. Past 1:50, the departure time, without a hint of remorse. Island time. Cross check. Let's go. Kiwiland awaits.
