Feb 9 morning

Turkeys and sheep and little brown birds and cows and larger birds with yellow and black heads and a white donkey greet us in the morning.

But we say goodbye to them and drive off at 8:30, northward bound. A couple hours later, stopped now for a rest on the north edge of Huntley: "Switch us on." Another beautiful summer day.

Into Auckland and up Mt Eden for a glorious view of town. Big grassy crater marked "No Entry - fragile and sacred site" or something along those lines. Little volcanoes dot the city, some wooded, some grass-covered, some with homes.
