Let Us out of Spokane, Now!

Oh, the Spokane airport's so fun.

We had reservations for the 3:30 flight back to Seattle today. We got done working plenty early, so after lunch, we drove back to the airport (stopping only to put 1.395 gallons into the rental car -- the previous user must not have filled it all the way).

We checked in at 1:29. I asked if we could get on the 2:30 flight. She said it was delayed, but that if we hurried, we could get on the 1:30. "It's been held a bit, so just run upstairs and maybe you can make it."

Yes, we made it.

Through security, up the escalator, get a seat assignment, and on the plane with belt fastened in less than five minutes.

The plane didn't even close the door for another ten minutes. Hmph. We had plenty of time.

5 minutes! You gotta love those small regional airports. They are so cute and tiny.

Another tiny airport I liked is Boise, Idaho. I forget if there are two or three "gates", which are really just places to walk out the door across the tarmac to the stairs pushed up against the plane.

My favorite is Wilmington, Delaware. There's only one gate. It's also baggage claim.

There's only 100' from the plane to the front curb, through the terminal.

Hard to get a taxi, though.

I used to think the Eugene airport was small. Apparently I need to travel more!
