Uhh, guess you're not a farm boy (or you are trying to make a joke). Farms smell like farms due to the solid matter excreted by the cattle, not the gaseous matter. The solid matter, in turn, releases volatile gases which you smell. The issue with gaseous releases is the methane contained in it, since methane is 11x more powerful of a greenhouse gas than CO2 (per unit weight).
