irrational pet peeve du jour

The standard spelling of "marshal" has one L, not two. Thank you very much.

Wikipedia has an opinion on this topic as well: "Marshal (also spelled Marshall) is a word used in several official titles of various branches of society. The word derives from Old Germanic marah "horse" and scalc "servant", and originally meant "stable keeper". The spelling of the name ("Marshall") is often confused with the spelling of the title ("Marshal")."

And if you ever type the phrase, "marshall law," you will be shot immediately and without warning.
